Blue Cross Group Medicare Advantage Open Access (PPO)

A top priority for the Board of Trustees is making sure our Retirees and their eligible family members are offered quality, affordable healthcare. To that end, the Board of Trustees of the Mid-America Carpenters Regional Council Health Fund has made the decision to change the Retiree Health Benefit offerings. After a detailed analysis of healthcare options for our Medicare-eligible Retirees, we are improving coverage by moving to a BlueCross and BlueShield of Illinois (BCBSIL) Group Medicare Advantage Prescription Drug Open Access (PPO) plan, also called a Medicare Advantage Prescription Drug (MAPD) plan. This will take effect January 1, 2024.
